What is the Combining Two Cultures conference?

Combining Two Cultures is a conference that celebrates interdisciplinary education among undergraduate students. It serves as a platform for participants from Canada and abroad to explore and discuss the benefits and applications of interdisciplinary degrees and experiences.

What schools and programs are involved?

Students from interdisciplinary programs across Canada and the United States are welcome to attend. 

What can you expect at registration?

You will be greeted at the door by one of our committee members and/or volunteers who will all be wearing shirts with our logo. You will register at the table located immediately inside from the entrance. There you will be given a brochure outlining the programming alongside other useful information such as your schedule for the weekend. You will also be assigned your group for both Saturday and Sunday indicated by two colours (one for each day). Referring to the brochure using your assigned colour group, you can preview the order in which you will go to the planned sessions.

When and where is the conference taking place?

The conference will be held from Friday, January 12, 2024, at 7:00 PM, to Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 3:30 PM, at the University of Waterloo in EV1, EV3, SJU and SLC. On Friday at 7:00 PM, enter EV3 through the entrance from Ring Road for the Speed Friending and music. On Saturday at 8:00 AM, enter EV3 through the entrance from Ring Road for registration and breakfast. And, on Sunday at 8:00 AM, enter EV3 through the entrance from Ring Road for breakfast.

Who should attend C2C?

C2C is most relevant for undergraduate students interested in interdisciplinary studies, professionals keen on leveraging multiple disciplines in their work, educators, and anyone curious about the benefits of a diverse educational experience.

What comes with the purchase of a ticket?

Your ticket grants you access to exclusive working groups, workshops and panels. You will have the opportunity to network with other interdisciplinary students. PLUS, five meals will be provided, where these costs are already factored into your ticket price. 

Where can I park my car?

Parking at lot X is free, however, it is a 15-minute walk to EV3. Parking lot H is the closest to EV3, however, it is paid. Please check for pricing at this link.
